What You'll Learn

  • Find out what all of those buttons, pictures, dials and settings actually mean.

  • I'll explain how your camera records and manages light to create an image.

  • We'll look how ISO, aperture and shutter speed work together to create balanced exposure.

  • Ever wondered how photographers get that lovely blurry background in their images? I'll show you how.

  • I'll teach you how to shoot in semi-automatic modes and manual mode so you can take full control over your photography.

  • Frustrated by out of focus images? You'll learn how to get sharp photos every time.

  • I'll teach you how different lenses can transform your images, giving them a totally different look and feel.

  • By the end of the training you'll be shooting in full manual mode.

What People Are Saying

Use my camera with confidence

by Gareth Taylor

After much searching I found the Love My Camera course. I had never used a camera at that point and had no idea what to expect from it. The course was easy to follow gave step by step simple instructions as well as a Facebook group to join with Sarah on hand to help and answer any questions. Since doing the course I've been able to use my camera with confidence and upgrade it without worrying about not knowing how to use it. With Love My Camera it's simple to learn any camera.

Do it! You won’t regret it

by Emily Chorley

Attended the photography for beginners course yesterday and had to write a review. I am a total beginner and was shooting on auto. Sarah went through the basics and made very thing make sense! I now feel I have the tools to explore shooting in manual and take better photographs. Sarah took the time to chat to each of us in the group to help tweak things to suit our individual cameras. If you are thinking about doing it… Do it! You won’t regret it.

She makes everything simple

by John Michaelson

I’ve done lots of photography courses in the past and have read lots of books. I learnt more from Sarah in 3 hours than I have from any other course. She makes everything simple and has so much patience!

You made my camera a lot more accessible to me

by Gareth Wood

Really enjoyed the course, thanks. It felt like I gained a lot of useful information and you made my camera a lot more accessible to me. I was a little apprehensive while driving to the course, but need not have worried, the atmosphere was great.

Highly recommended

by Lorraine Williams

I really enjoyed Sarah’s beginners photography class. I felt like I learnt a lot. She helped me understand my new camera and she explained it all really well. I felt like it ‘clicked’ altogether after attending the morning workshop. Highly recommended.
